Lenovo has made its ThinkPad X230S official. The X230S is the successor to the X230 and X200 Thinkpad notebooks. The new model has ultrabook processor, the Core i5 3337U. It is also very thin, now measuring only 17.7 mm and weighs between 28.1 and 31.1 kilograms.
The chassis, as expected is made of carbon fiber and has similar characteristics as one finds in other Thinkpad models. You get backlit AccuType keyboard with isolated (chiclet) style keys for better typing experience in dimly / dark rooms. The design of X230S is flatter than before, and its display can be lowered to up to 180 degrees now. Overall, it looks much more elegant and modern than before.

You get 12.5 inch screen with 1366×768 pixel resolution and Core i5 3337U processor that blows all ultrabook processors in benchmark tests. This ULV processor runs at 1.8GHz clock speed and automatically overclocks to 2.7GHz when turbo boost mode is activated. Other specs include a 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD, 720p webcam, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3 cell battery and Gigabit Ethernet LAN. It runs Windows 8.
